Mallikarjun Kharge On Bengal Panchayat Elections: Mamata government has come under attack from political parties for the violence in West Bengal Panchayat elections. Now Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has condemned the election violence. He said on Sunday (July 9) that I condemn this kind of violence because elections should be held in a fair manner, otherwise there will be nothing like democracy.

Earlier, West Bengal Congress President and Lok Sabha MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary had accused BJP and TMC of complicity in violence. He had said that the Union Home Ministry had directed the central forces to delay the entry of central forces into the state during the panchayat polls to help the TMC loot votes.

Congress’s serious allegation on Mamta Banerjee

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said that an agreement has been reached between BJP and TMC in Delhi and in return for this favor, TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee will be elected in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Voting was held on Saturday for the Panchayat elections in West Bengal. According to news agency PTI, officials said that 15 people have been killed so far in the violence during the panchayat elections.

BJP demands President’s Rule

Political parties have accused each other regarding election violence. The BJP has demanded imposition of President’s rule in the state. Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Shubhendu Adhikari said that it is very difficult to conduct free and fair elections under the state government. This is possible only when President’s rule is imposed in the state or Article 355 is invoked.
